Since March 2020 the Eastern Baptist Association has been unable to provide face to face safeguarding training due to Coronavirus restrictions. The Baptist Union National Safeguarding team have now produced an Excellence in Safeguarding Update film. The film is a temporary measure until we are able to return to face-to-face training. The Safeguarding Update film covers the key points of both Level 2 and Level 3 training and is accompanied by a Resources Pack that comes as a PDF. The film lasts for 90 minutes and there is a break point in the middle. Throughout the film there are four ‘Stop and Consider’ points that encourage you to pick up paper and pen and reflect on the themes that have been covered as well as thinking about safeguarding practice in your church. Twice-monthly Prayer Gatherings on Zoom for 30 mins– daytime at 9.30 on 1st Tuesday of the month starting on 5th January, then in the evening 7pm on 3rd Tuesday of the month which will start on 19th January. Part of the focus for these will be our Prayer Focus churches and in due course we will invite them to take part in this. Once a term – Time to Gather – a time to pray and listen together about wider issues affecting our Association, our Union and our country.
