What is Home Mission?

Money received from the Home Mission appeal is used in three ways by the Baptist family:

Regional Associations are funded through Home Mission. Regional Ministers and the support that is offered to churches are all paid for by Home Mission.

The Specialist Teams based at Baptist House in Didcot are funded through Home Mission giving. Therefore whenever you call to ask a question or when you get DBS checks done through DDC, the advice you receive is enabled directly as a result of Home Mission.

Grants are available for any BU church that would struggle to pay its Minister and a grant of a maximum of 50% of stipend can be paid to churches. Grants are also available for Baptist Ministers ministering in a pioneer role.

The EBA has recently produced a video for use in churches to help explain and promote Home Mission. You can view the video here

In addition a video has been produced detailing the ministry happening at Wymondham Baptist Church as a result of Home Mission support, You can view and download the video here to use in your church as promotion for Home Mission. You can also read some stories about Pioneering ministries based in the EBA on our here

BUGB has recently updated the Home Mission promotion resources and these can all be found here

Churches can give to Home Mission  in a variety of ways, the suggested annual amount is 5% of your general income each year. Ideally this should be given in monthly instalments via standing order. Please contact Julie on finance@easternbaptist.org.uk for details how to do this.

Donations can also be collected in a variety of ways details of these can be found here
