Every Christian is called to serve God and take part in God’s mission in the world. We all have gifts, passions and ways in which God works through us. For some people, however, there is also a particular sense of calling towards Baptist ministry and leadership within the church and wider community.
God calls all kinds of people into ministry. Across our churches, God is calling women and men, younger and older people, and those from many different cultures, backgrounds and life experiences to serve in leadership and many varied types of ministries.
Some people sense a call to serve in a local church congregation. Others are drawn towards pioneering new Christian communities, working with children and young people, chaplaincy in schools, hospitals, prisons, or workplaces, or sharing God’s love through mission and evangelism in creative and practical ways. Some are called to full-time ministry and others bi-vocational. Wherever and however God calls, each person brings their own story, gifts, experiences and passions to the life of the church and the mission of God.
