Weekly Prayer Focus: Kings Church Mildenhall

Week 16

Located in the market town of Mildenhall in Suffolk, King’s Church Mildenhall is a loving church made up of people from all walks of life and from different backgrounds and cultures. They enjoy being a diverse fellowship, and are blessed to have an American contingent from the local USAF bases; all sharing in a common goal to ‘express his life, and fulfil his purpose’, through worshipping God and making Jesus Christ known in their community. The Leadership of the church includes Lead Pastor, Rev Carl Morehouse, Associate Pastor, Rev Tim Bright, and Lay Pastor, Rev Peter Finnis.

The church has a large programme of regular activities throughout the week, including a lunch club that hosts around 40 people, a youth café that sees 20+ teenagers come along regularly, a foodbank that has served the local community for many years, and a weekly coffee morning.

Discipleship is being forged through regular dynamic worship services, (which include children and youth group activities), six weekly Connect groups and two weekly prayer meetings. There is also a Pastoral Care Team available to provide a listening ear and some counsel for those who need it.

One of the church members has recently taken on responsibility, along with a small team, of providing a bi-monthly service at a local care home, and through the vision of another church member, Kings Church have recently started ‘Messy Church’ on a monthly basis, which seems to have started well. The church is also close to appointing a part-time youth worker, to develop and grow the youth and young adult ministry.

Please pray for -:

  • All who come through the doors of Kings Church; that they will encounter something of the living God.
  • God’s continued favour as they reach out into the community through their ministries.
  • The continued growth in love and discipleship amongst the congregation.
