Bluntisham Baptist Church is in North Cambridgeshire, about 5 minutes’ drive from St Ives. With its history dating back to the 1780s, the church is formed of all kinds of different people who are committed to honouring God in all they do. It seeks to build a united, welcoming, loving community where everyone can find a place to belong and be inspired to use their gifts to serve God, each other, and those in need. It has a membership of just over a hundred members who come from the surrounding villages and towns.
It is a vibrant church that in a spirit of friendship and love, seeks to follow the example of Jesus and be a beacon of light to its surrounding community. It does this in a variety of ways from its Beacon Community Café that meets weekly, and its associated Beacon Money Advice Centre; through its ‘stay and play’ Little Fishes toddler sessions, which includes a monthly Little Fishes for Dads; to its monthly prayer times for schools, twice weekly Craft and Chat sessions and Friday Fellas and Friday Ladies monthly meetings. Its outreach to young people includes its popular holiday Bible clubs and its recent Light Party on Halloween. The church is currently looking at setting up a new Sunday night youth group.
Simon, their minister, arrived last June, and is settling himself into a new church and a new Association after 17 years ministry at Bewdley, in Worcestershire.
