Ashdon Baptist Church is located in the beautiful, quaint village of Ashdon, Essex. It is a small village church that has at times been bigger and at times been smaller but now has up to 20 people in the congregation who are faithful and love Jesus.
Around the village, perhaps in the school where she does assemblies and is chair of governors, you will find their minister, Bren Brundritt. Coming from SE London, she has found where she is called to be, in the middle of the village community. Believing that church is about Monday-Friday as well as the weekends, she loves the fact that her days can be full of children showing off their cartwheels, pastoral care of school staff, as well as with her formal members. Walking with people through their journeys is important.
In the church building, you can find Ashdon Baptist Church’s Sunday service and, weekly, the best bacon butties around. For the primary school children, there is the 1st Ashdon Brigade. A recent Macmillan morning demonstrates that the village knows that the church and hall are their space, their church.
Unfortunately recent hall repairs have impacted many other regular meetings. With electrics and painting to go, the repairs are moving forward, but it may be 2025 before they are completed. However, the churches brilliant treasurer was able to get a grant for these works, and hopes to get another to improve the kitchen facilities and truly make the church an indispensable hub of the village which people come to.
