Weekly Prayer Focus

Each week the Eastern Baptist Association will produce a Weekly Prayer Focus for a different member church across the region. We hope you will be able to use the article and accompanying PowerPoint and PDF to encourage you and your churches in prayers for others in the association.

Located in the market town of Mildenhall in Suffolk, King’s Church Mildenhall is a loving church made up of people from all walks of life and from different backgrounds and cultures. They enjoy being a diverse fellowship, and are blessed to have an American contingent from the local USAF bases; all sharing in a common goal to ‘express his life, and fulfil his purpose’, through worshipping God and making Jesus Christ known in their community. The Leadership of the church includes Lead Pastor, Rev Carl Morehouse, Associate Pastor, Rev Tim Bright, and Lay Pastor, Rev Peter Finnis. The Welcome Directory has a simple yet powerful vision: EMPOWERING FAITH COMMUNITIES TO WELCOME PRISON LEAVERS. The Welcome Directory supports the resettlement of people leaving prison in two ways; providing a directory of churches and other faith communities to prison chaplains identifying places where people leaving prison are welcome supporting faith communities registered with us to do this in ways that are Welcoming, Accepting and Safe. There are currently 455 communities on The Welcome Directory, with the Eastern Region represented above. The purple tags represent Baptist Churches. Great Sampford Baptist Church is a small, committed church, who know that God has a place for them in their small village of about 350 houses. Although they have an older congregation, the church has just started a babies and toddlers group to address a need in the village. This goes alongside monthly coffee mornings and Seedlings, similar to Messy Church, which is run alongside the local Anglican Church. You will also find the church in the local primary school, where they run assemblies every fortnight and a Puppet Club on a Wednesday lunchtime, with a faith-themed puppet play performed every term.
