Weekly Prayer Focus

Each week the Eastern Baptist Association will produce a Weekly Prayer Focus for a different member church across the region. We hope you will be able to use the article and accompanying PowerPoint and PDF to encourage you and your churches in prayers for others in the association.

The Baptist Church has been a part of the village of Cottenham for very many years. A small family church of varied ages and diversity, they have seen a little growth in recent times with new people moving into the area. They are keen to discern where God is at work in their community and where He wishes them to focus their resources and energy and have given time this year to spend exploring His will through prayer and Biblical studies. Harold Park Baptist church lies North-East of Romford, in Harold Park on the Essex border. It has existed since 1928, originally as part of the Baptist Union, and has thrived and declined, most recently since Covid. It changed to FIEC from 1959. Orchard Baptist Church, Colchester is a community of around 40 members, with up to 30 worshipping regularly. Located to the south of Colchester, the church serves a diverse community with diverse and multiple needs. The weekly toddler group is always full, with parents and carers having to book their places on Eventbrite! Under the leadership team, Church Secretary, Treasurer and a dedicated set of Deacons, the church has maintained weekly worship through the support of visiting preachers and is opening a “Warm Space” for locals on a Thursday evening. This will provide warmth, company and support to those who…

It is particularly good to have Claire back with us again having completed her cancer treatment over the summer. The year has involved some team changes – with Gale, Gina, and Sharon all finishing with us – Becky joining the team back in February – and a new colleague to come in the new year too.  We’re grateful for the privilege of having been able to work alongside these colleagues, and pray God will bless them richly in the future….
