Weekly Prayer Focus: Wood Lane Baptist Church, Dagenham

Week 37

Dagenham, famous for its Ford Motor’s plant, is home to four Baptist Churches that are in membership with the Eastern Baptist Association. Wood Lane Baptist Church was the third to be built being established in 1932. As the town of Dagenham has evolved over the years, Wood Lane Baptist Church has transformed alongside it.

Today, Wood Lane Baptist Church is a truly multicultural congregation, representing a diverse array of backgrounds and life experiences. The fellowship is united by a strong passion for worshipping our Lord Jesus. They celebrate and embrace the rich variety of cultures within the church, recognizing that this diversity strengthens their fellowship. They see each other as family, fostering an environment of acceptance, love, and mutual support.

The Minister of Wood Lane is Anthony Egbunike.  Anthony has just finished his MIT training at Spurgeon’s College, and is due to be ordained. He is supported by eight Deacons who comprise the leadership team.

Wood Lane give thanks that they have seen the hand of God and His blessing on the various areas of ministry, including youth club, afternoon fellowship, prayer, Bible study, step- aerobics. They have especially felt God’s presence during Sunday worship, including the ministry of the word. Part of God’s faithfulness has been recently acknowledged as they celebrated answers to some prayers.

They are trusting God for fruitfulness as they embark on various activities to reach their community with the Gospel.

Please pray for:

  • Wisdom to hear and follow God’s direction and for His will to be accomplished in His mission.
  • Innovation to develop effective approaches to ministry, both for missional outreach to the community and for making and maturing disciples.
  • For blessing and empowerment by the Holy Spirit to see further unity and increasing love for God and one another to grow within the fellowship.
