Weekly Prayer Focus: London Road Baptist Church

Week 3

London Road Baptist Church is a family-friendly church packed with people from all walks of life, with a vision to be a thriving Jesus-following community that reflects the transformative power of Jesus to our town of Lowestoft. They believe that relationships are key to developing opportunities to share Jesus and make disciples.

Although you can connect with the church family on a Sunday morning to worship, there is a lot more happening at LRBC. During the week, you will find small groups and the youth group, Pulse, at the church. At the Whitton Life Community Hub there is children’s work, a café, and ‘Knit and Natter’ amongst other things! Whilst around town, the Chaplaincy Lowestoft team are regularly out and about giving out freebies and offering space for prayer and mindful moments of meditation. Additionally, LRBC runs Wild Church, where you can meet with others and God around a log fire or on the beach.

All these activities are run by a dedicated group of volunteers, a team of deacons and ministers – Rev Lou Webber (Team Leader), Rev Esther Day (Pioneer Minister and Lead Chaplain), Liz Read (Whitton Life Community Coordinator), Ferne Cornwell (Children & Families Worker.) We are currently also searching for a new Youth Worker.

Please pray with them:

  • For the 18-40s missing generation, that they may connect with Jesus
  • For all the people working tirelessly, but unseen, serving the church and wider community
  • For the groups that hire the church building
  • For all the school children, teachers and parents who attended services and school assemblies at LRBC over Christmas
  • For the new Youth Worker, that they may be found and build on what’s already been achieved
  • For Rev Lou and husband Ian in their leadership, and to thank God for her
