Great Shelford Free Church lies within a large village on the outskirts of Cambridge and is led by their pastor Diana Parr. They are a friendly bunch of people who meet together every Sunday morning. They hold a monthly café service and also regular prayer meetings.
Activities during the week include small groups, a Community Café, Little Steps and Tiny Toes for children and babies, together with Open Space: A monthly collaborative venture between the village churches, for families where regular activities occur outside on land behind the two churches. In the church’s property next door a charity called Romsey Mill runs Cara Coffee, a lovely cafe, along with volunteers from the church and the local community.
In addition to all this, events are held regularly between the parish council and village organisations – a festival in the summer where the church has a stall, a Remembrance Day event and a Christmas light switch-on. There is also involvement in assemblies at the local primary school and the school visits the church at Easter and for a summer concert.
