Gamlingay Baptist Church (GBC) is a community committed to loving God and one another, whilst inviting others to join them as they journey together on their way back to God. They are a blessed family who shows up, prays and waits for God.
On most Sundays, you will find two services, one traditional (Hymnal Praise), one contemporary (Family Service), both growing. The Family service sees a growing group of people stepping up to serve as musicians, service leaders and youth/children’s group leaders. However, every 3rd Sunday, the church has sacrificed their service for mission. Everything from litter-picking to prayer walks and board games has been seen, with their Backroom Cafe opening to serve delicious coffees and cakes, but above that, people are encouraged and released to go and do what God is calling them to do. Every Monday, there is excellent coffee, tea and cake provided at the free Backroom Café, designed to connect with the community and break down barriers. Additionally, in partnership with the Anglican church, they run the Gamlingay Food Project. The community fridge and freezer reduces food waste from the local supermarkets – up to 1.6 tons of food each month and the Need Project Hub provides food parcels delivered to those who need them.
Rev Adrian Semerene has been Gamlingay Baptist Church’s minister for 8 years. He is a strong believer in mission – local and international – and recently returned from Uganda. He is also a part of the Fresh Streams leadership team, and a Co-Opted member of BU Council. He loves music, people, coffee and God! He will be barista’ing with the Backroom Cafe on tour on Saturday and Sunday this week during the Gamlingay Christmas craft and gift fair. The church are expecting to provide over 500 drinks to support the village!
