Weekly Prayer Focus: Friars Baptist Church

Week 5

Friars Baptist Church describes itself as a small, but busy Church in the Shoeburyness region in the City of Southend on Sea. The fellowship does not, currently, have a minister but does have an active leadership team.

During the week, Friars is a hive of activity with hosting a FoodBank (The Shoebury Ark) once week, with anything from 70 to 100 plus families attending. A coffee morning each Wednesday attended by Church folk and visitors from the community. A Bi Monthly Messy Church and Boys and Girls Brigade Companies, Bible study and fellowship groups, a monthly prayer breakfast.  There is also CAMEO Meeting for seniors.

During the coming year, there are plans to run a Christianity Explored course and open a Toddler Group

 Friars gives thanks that there are growing, regular links with the local Primary School.  The children have visited the Church premises to explore Christianity and the church as part of their curriculum. The fellowship are praying that this will continue to develop in 2025.

Prayer points –

• That the fellowship will be united as they pray and discern God’s will for them as they seek a minister.
• That the prayer life will flourish.
• That they will be able to reach out further in the community, and take God’s presence, love and light to them.
• For new families, especially children and young people, to join them.
