Cranham Baptist Church is a small, very friendly, very caring, very loving church who are starting an exciting season with a new minister. Helen Harrigan has just started at the church and will be ordained and inducted this weekend, the 22nd of March.
It has been 3 years since they last had a minister, and Cranham Baptist church have had visiting speakers in their Sunday services during that time. Their services integrate modern style into a traditional service, with children’s activities running alongside. During the week, the building is used for hire, in keeping with their Christian ethos but used by a wide range of their commuter belt community, including the Chinese community. Additionally, they run Boys and Girls Brigade, prayer mornings, a Wednesday fellowship that has been running since 1958 and a bible reflection group.
Although 2024 was a challenging year, 2025 is a new beginning, and the church is already seeing signs of God’s purpose being worked out. The church has a strong group of youth in it, alongside some older members of the congregation, many of whom count the church as their life and family. Although some have family connections with the people who built the church and know all its history, they also have high hopes for the future.
