Weekly Prayer Focus: Chase Cross Baptist Church

Week 42

On the edge of Romford, in borough of Havering is Chase Cross, home to the fellowship at Chase Cross Baptist Church.

Revd Derek Gibson has been the Minister at Chase Cross for nearly two years.  Since his arrival, the work with children and young people, particularly through the after school club, has progressed.  Sadly, through recent events, it is unclear when this can start again.

The fellowship has now started to meet again for worship on a Sunday.  Sunday services under the current guidelines, looks different to how Chase Cross Baptist Church would normally worship, however, they are appreciating being back together again. A socially distanced Communion was appreciated by those who were able to attend.   Those who are unable to meet at the Sunday service are not excluded.  There is the opportunity to join in via Facebook.

A weekly housegroup, via Zoom, has proved a very popular and a good way for the Church to worship, study, pray and have fellowship with each other.

As the Church begins to move forward and develop new ideas for the future, they are keen to see these times as a Kingdom opportunity.

For Prayer

  • The Church meeting at the end of October. Please pray for wisdom as the Church seeks God’s direction for the future.
  • Remembrance and Christmas are events that usually attract members of the wider community. Please pray that the fellowship will find creative ways of sharing the Gospel message at these times.
