Burnham on Crouch is a small coastal town on the southern Dengie Peninsula in Essex. It has a vibrant sailing and yachting community due to its location on the River Crouch.
The Baptist Church is located in the south of the town, on the High Street. Whilst currently in a period of pastoral vacancy, the Church has been led by Simon Werrett since May 2023. Simon’s main role is as a Community and Digital Pastor. He is supported by Brian M, Brian W, Jacquie and Steve — a committed team of Deacons.
Along with regular Sunday services, Home Groups, and a weekly prayer gathering the Church engages with its community through The Saturday Table which provides an opportunity to engage with people passing by the Church.
During 2023 the Church Garden was used as a community space for people to grow their own veg and fruit.
Also during the Summer of 2023 the Church car park hosted an open air service followed by a BBQ. The Church were able to celebrate two Baptismal services as well.
