Equipped to engage with Science

This one day course is for lay and ordained church leaders, primarily (but not exclusively) from Eastern Baptist Association Churches, to enrich their understanding of the science-faith dialogue. It is designed mainly for those who have a reasonable level of theological understanding and pastoral experience, but may have no background in science. Attendees can ask questions or mention issues they may not have had the opportunity to discuss in their church context, and be equipped to address scientific issues in the day-to-day life of their church.

Schedule:

10-11 am    Introduction to Science and Faith – Dr Ruth Bancewicz

11.30-12.30    Climate Change – Rev Dr Dave Gregory

1.30-2.30 pm    Bioethics – Dr Andrew Perrett

3-4 pm        Response to disasters/COVID – Rev Dr Roger Abbott

Each talk will be 30 min, followed by self-introduction and discussion in break out rooms (15 min), then back together again for 15 mins Q&A with speaker/chair.
