Star Names top the bill
for Bluntisham Church’s Fundraising Concerts
Bluntisham Baptist Church has secured two international
star names to help in a fundraising drive towards
their building project.
On Saturday July 19th the church
hosts ‘An Evening with Yazz’. Yazz shot to fame in
the 80’s when her single ‘The only way is up’ hit
number 1 across the world. After further success she
later quit the music business, but has recently
released a new album. Yazz lives in Spain with her
family, and attends a Baptist church there. She
recently met members of the Bluntisham church at a
conference about building projects: they asked her
to do a concert for them and she agreed. In ‘An
Evening with Yazz’ she talks honestly about fame,
her life and faith, and sings songs from her new
studio album.
Tickets for An Evening with Yazz on July 19th cost
just £6 and are available from Bluntisham Baptist
Church. Please call 07787 901455 for more details or

But
that’s not all. Olivier Award Winning opera star Amanda Roocroft,
hailed recently by critics as ‘one of Britain’s
best-loved opera stars’, is giving a concert of
opera favourites at the church on Saturday 20th
September at 7pm.
Roocroft, who won the Olivier Award in 2007 for
Outstanding Achievement in Opera, recently starred
as Madame Butterfly for the Welsh National Opera,
and as ‘The Merry Widow’ at the ENO. She is a local
resident, a member of the Baptist Church along with
her family, and a regular on the coffee rota.
Tickets for ‘A night at the Opera with Amanda Roocroft’
on 20th September cost £15 including a wine
reception from 6pm and are available from 01487
840930.
